Sugar & Spice Inspiration with Simon Says Stamp: Release Blog Hop Day 2 + PRIZES!

Sugar, spice, and all things iced! ❄️ I’m thrilled to be part of Day 2 of the Simon Says Stamp Sugar & Spice Release Blog Hop, and today’s card is bringing the cozy vibes and glittery goodness. I used the Festive Wreath 3D embossing folder, Intricate Bottle Brush Trees dies, and the Label Slides Christmas stamp & die set—plus a few extra sweet touches to make this winter scene sparkle.

Joy to the World Card:

  • Cut & fold A2 card base.
  • Cut A2 panel from white cardstock.
  • Emboss the panel with the Festive Wreath embossing folder.
  • Ink blend around the edges of the panel in Seafoam & Ocean ink.
  • Diecut the bottle brush tree pieces, then ink blend as shown.
  • Adhere only the ink blended brushes together.
  • Splatter the embossed panel & trees with white.
  • Remove the trees, then splatter the panel with sparkle. Set all aside to dry.
  • Diecut the snowflakes from ivory glitter cardstock.
  • Diecut the word JOY one from ivory glitter, and twice from white cardstock.
  • Diecut the shadow layer from vellum, then stack & glue the word together.
  • Diecut the label slide, then stamp the remaining sentiment to it.
  • Adhere the embossed panel to the card front.
  • Arrange the diecut elements and sentiments to the front as shown, using ivory twine in the label slide.
  • Accent with Prism dazzling gems to finish.

Ginger McDonald - The aqua colors were perfect for your card. They set the tone for a soft, & dreamy card one that encouraged ones mind wander and take in all the different elements on your card. I love the simplicity of Bottle Brush trees but then again I've been fascinated with Bottle Brush trees since I was a child. The three glittery snowflakes were the trifecta of glittery goodness to add the right amount of sparkle and interest. Perhaps in person I would have picked out the embossing folder in the background but via how I'm seeing it via my screen it's coming across as a great textural background, one that allows the focal images to pop. Between the ink blending and the placement of your focal elements the wreath design fades to the back serving as a great background, yet it's so much better than a plain ink blended panel would have been because the embossed panel adds interest without being the main event. I guess what I'm trying to say is, it's a GREAT supporting cast to promote the main focal attractions, your trees, snowflakes and greeting. I LOVE products that can multi-task, your card showed me that the Wreath embossing folder could be a fantastic focal point or a great supporting cast for other elements. The large JOY describes what one feels when looking at your card, as your card delivers joy, it's beautiful !!
