Happy Saturday, crafty friends! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far. My friends at Spellbinders recently asked me to create a card set featuring some products from the Celestial Zodiacs collection, and I happily said yes! I love to create night skies, and I love stars...and the fact that there is hot foiling products in this collection makes it even better!
For my first card I embossed a panel of navy blue cardstock with the Stargazer embossing folder. Next I foiled the constellations from the Taurus, Virgo, Scorpio and Capricorn foiling sets in Aura colored foil. (BTW - you can get all of the Zodiac glimmer plates in a full set with some added savings!) I stamped & heat embossed the sentiment from Starstruck Sentiments in white, then splattered the entire panel with white acrylic ink. Once the ink was dry, I cut the panel with the largest Nestabilities Essentials Rectangle, then mounted it to the front of a white A2 card base with foam adhesive. To finish, I accented with iridescent jewels.
For my second card I ink blended the Layered Moon in shades of grey ink, then cut the moon out with a Nestabilities Essentials Circle. I foiled the sentiment to it using the Celestial Sentiments glimmer hot foil set in Aura colored foil. Next I foiled the Celestial Star Background to a panel of navy cardstock. I cut the panel with the largest Nestabilities Essentials Rectangle, then mounted it to the front of a white A2 card base with foam adhesive. I mounted the moon to the left side of the card with foam tape, then trimmed the excess off with sharp scissors. To finish, I accented with iridescent jewels.
For my final card, I ink blended the Layered Moon in shades of blue and the final layer in white embossing paste. I foiled the Celestial Star Background to a panel of white cardstock. I foiled the sentiments to white and navy cardstock using the Taurus & More Sentiments glimmer hot foil sets. I trimmed them down to size, and adhered the moon navy foiled strip to the bottom of the foiled star background. I mounted the background to a light blue A2 card base, then trimmed the excess of the moon off with sharp scissors. I added the white Taurus sentiment strip to the bottom of the moon with foam tape, then finished by accenting with iridescent jewels.
I really love this beautiful Celestial Zodiacs collection! I think it’s a really fun idea to make custom cards for friends and loved ones based on their zodiac sign and coordinating constellation. I had so much fun creating these cards and I hope they inspire you as you create with these gorgeous new products. Have a wonderful day!
