Fresh Inspiration with Altenew: May 2026 Release Blog Hop + PRIZES

Happy Saturday, crafty friends! I’m sharing this sweet carousel card featuring Altenew’s May release, and these new goodies are giving me all the whimsical feels. ✨🌸

Today I'm featuring the Wondrous Ride die set, with the Lace Topped Petals 3D embossing folder in the background. The sentiment came from the Flourished Flora stamp & die set, and it was just the perfect touch for this sweet little unicorn!

Easy Step by Step instructions:

  • Cut & fold an A2 white card base.
  • Trim Dew Drops cardstock slightly smaller, then emboss with the Lace Topped Petals 3D embossing folder.
  • Mount the embossed panel to the card front with foam tape.
  • Diecut the pieces from the Wondrous Ride die set, then assemble.
  • Mount to the front with foam tape.
  • Heat emboss the sentiment in iridesscent gold to white cardstock.
  • Diecut with two additional layers, then stack & glue together.
  • Accent with Iridescent Crystals to finish.

Easy Step by Step instructions:

  • Cut & fold A2 white card base, then cover with Dew Drops cardstock.
  • Stamp the background in Pink Pearl and Coral Bliss to the top of a white cardstock panel.
  • Stamp the sentiment directly to the bottom of the panel in Obsidian.
  • Trim the panel to 3.75" x 5", then mount to the card front with foam tape.
  • Diecut the Regency Sofa pieces, then assemble.
  • Mount to the card front with foam tape.
  • Heat emboss the main sentiment in antique gold to white cardstock.
  • Diecut with two extra layers, then stack & glue together.
  • Mount to the card front with foam tape.
  • Accent with Iridescent Crystals to finish.

Altenew May Release Instagram Hop

Easy Step by Step instructions:

  • Cut & fold A2 white card base.
  • Emboss A2 white cardstock panel with the Laced Topped Petals 3D embossing folder, then adhere to the card front.
  • Stamp the floral image in grey ink to white cardstock using your Stampwheel. (Do not remove from sticky mat.)
  • Ink blend the florals using the coordinating layering stencils in the following colors:

Stencil 1: Strawberry, Pastel Sunrise
Stencil 2: Dusty Pink, Sunlit Sand and Blush Rose, Canyon Clay
Stencil 3: Chamomile, Frosted Seaglass, Coastal Haze

  • Re-stamp in Obsidian ink using the Stampwheel.
  • Clean stencil 1, then line up with the stamped image.
  • Evenly apply Iridescent Glitter relief paste over top of the stencil with a palette knife, but don't cover the petals completely.
  • Gently remove from the stencil and set aside to dry.
  • Diecut an arch from Blush cardstock.
  • Heat emboss the flourish to the upper left corner in iridescent sparkle embossing powder.
  • Heat emboss the secondary sentiment to the arch in white as shown.
  • Mount to the card front with foam tape.
  • Heat emboss the main sentiment in pearl gold sparkle, then diecut with three extra layers.
  • Stack & glue together, then above the secondary sentiment.
  • Diecut the floral image once the paste is dry.
  • Layer the floral image to the front with liquid glue, then trim away the excess.
  • Accent with Iridescent Crystals to finish.

Extra Project: Swan Serenade

Easy Step by Step instructions:

  • Cut & fold A2 white card base.
  • Ink blend the Swan Serenade stencils to white cardstock in the following colors:

Stencil 1: Strawberry
Stencil 2:Snapdragon, Mint
Stencil 3: Pool, Dusty Pink
Stencil 4: Frosted Seaglass, Blush Rose
Stencil 5: Coastal Haze, Raspberry Sunset, Mystic Lake
Stencil 6: Pool, Teal Tempest, Terracotta

  • Align stencil 5 again, then gently apply Iridescent Glitter relief paste to just the swan details.
  • Once dry, trim the panel to 4" x 5.25".
  • Stamp the secondary sentiment in the upper left corner in Obsidian ink using your Stampwheel.
  • Mount the ink blended panel to the card front with foam tape.
  • Diecut the hello sentiment three times: once from ivory glitter, and twice from white cardstock.
  • Diecut the shadow layer from vellum, then stack & glue together.
  • Adhere to the card front with glue.
  • Accent with Iridescent Crystals to finish.
