Fresh Inspiration with Altenew: March 2026 Release Blog Hop + PRIZES

Happy Saturday, crafty friends! I’m back with another dose of floral magic for Altenew’s March release, and these new goodies are giving me all the whimsical feels. ✨🌸

Today I’m featuring the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Garden Gala — a subscription favorite from last month that’s now available for regular purchase. If you’re a subscriber, you might already have this beauty in your stash. If not, today’s a great day to grab it because it’s incredibly versatile and such a joy to create with. I also forgot how much I adore florals stamped in gray instead of black…it softens everything and adds the sweetest touch of whimsy, and I am fully here for it!

Easy Step by Step instructions:

  • Cut & fold A2 white card base.
  • Emboss Blush cardstock panel with the Garden Gala 3D embossing folder.
  • Stamp the flowers in Coastal Fog ink to white cardstock.
  • Ink blend the florals using the coordinating layering stencils, then diecut.

Stencil 1: Marshland, Dusty Pink, Canyon Clay
Stencil 2: Sea Forest, Raspberry Sunset, Burnt Red
Stencil 3: A3 - Mangrove Root, Chamomile, A4 - Snapdragon
Stencil 4: B1 - Dusty Pink, Canyon Clay, B2 - Raspberry Sunset, Burnt Red
Stencil 5: B3 - Sea Forest, Chamomile, B4 - Mangrove Root, Snapdragon

  • Heat emboss the main sentiment in antique gold to white cardstock.
  • Diecut with three extra layers, then stack & glue together.
  • Heat emboss the secondary sentiment in pure white to crimson cardstock.
  • Trim the secondary sentiment into a thin strip.
  • Adhere the florals to the embossed panels as shown, trimming away excess from the edges.
  • Mount the panel to the card front with foam tape.
  • Mount the sentiments to the front with thin foam strips as shown.
  • Adhere the small, trimmed away flower element above the word HUGS.
  • Accent with crystal moonlight sequins and yellow glitter drops to finish.

Easy Step by Step instructions:

  • Cut & fold A2 white card base.
  • Ink blend the Luxe Lattice stencil to white cardstock in a gradient with Arctic, Pool and Sapphire inks.
    Diecut the solid hello die from the middle of the panel.
  • Diecut the outline hello die once from Shimmering Lake glitter cardstock, and twice from white cardstock.
  • Stack & glue the outline layers together.
  • Diecut the frames from brushed gold cardstock.
  • Emboss the largest frame with the coordinating 3D embossing folder.
  • Cover the back opening of the ink blended panel with acetate to create a shaker window.
  • Glue the frame to the front, then the sentiment to the top as shown.
  • Add a glitter mix and shimmering pool sequins to the middle of the card base.
  • Mount the shaker window to the top with foam adhesive, making sure to secure before shaking.
  • Heat emboss the secondary sentiment in pure white to aqualicious cardstock, then trim into a thin strip.
  • TMount above the word hello with thin foam strips.
  • Accent with shimmering pool sequins to finish.

Altenew March Release Instagram Hop

Easy Step by Step instructions:

  • Cut & fold A2 white card base.
  • Apply Crystal 3D gel to a Blush cardstock panel through the Pointweave stencil.
  • Gently remove the stencil, then sprinkle with a glitter mix and set aside to dry.
  • Heat emboss the flowers in Antique Gold to white cardstock.
  • Ink blend the florals using the coordinating layering stencils with inks from the Dried Petals and Coastal Mist color families.
  • Apply the Crystal 3D gel through one of the floral stencil layers, then gently remove.
  • Sprinkle with glitter and set aside to dry.
  • Trim the blush panel slightly smaller than A2, then mount to the card base with foam adhesive.
  • Stamp the main sentiment in black, then dieucut.
  • Heat emboss the secondary sentiment in white to velvet cardstock, then trim into a thin strip with a banner edge on the left side.
  • Diecut the florals with their coordinating die.
  • Adhere the florals to the front as shown, trimming away excess from the bottom edge.
  • Mount the sentiments to the front with thin foam strips as shown.
  • Accent with crystal moonlight sequins and yellow glitter drops to finish.

Altenew Watercolor Compact Instagram Hop

Easy Step by Step instructions:

  • Cut & fold A2 white card base.
  • Watercolor a gradient background using the greens from the Lush Terra watercolor compact, then set aside to dry.
  • Heat emboss the flowers in Golden Peach embossing powder to white mixed media cardstock.
  • Watercolor the florals with the Lush Terra & Deep Muse watercolor compacts, then set aside to dry.
  • Trim the background panel slightly smaller than A2, then mount to the card base with foam adhesive.
  • Diecut the Arched Door elements, then assemble.
  • Diecut the extra greenery layers from Sparkling Water glitter cardstock.
  • Stamp the sentiment in black, then diecut.
  • Diecut both watercolor florals.
  • Adhere the door and florals to the card front as shown.
  • Mount the sentiment to the front with thin foam strips.
  • Add the sparkling greenery tucked here & there as shown.
  • Accent with crystal moonlight sequins to finish.

Sandy Suzuka - I'm glad you used the Garden Gala embossing folder. I was wondering how it would look as a background. It gives a nice texture without overwhelming the beautiful florals. Your blending is the best and pink is one of my favorite colors. I agree that using light gray to stamp the flowers gives your card a softer look than if you had stamped in black.
