Happy Monday, crafty friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. My friends at Spellbinders recently asked me to create a project featuring some products from the Expressions of Love collection, and I was excited to see the Sunday Sunset Drive die set. I really love when companies find ways to freshen up older products, which is one thing I really love about the Sunday Drive collection of dies. And they always make for the cutest cards!
I Love You card
I started by ink blending my sunset background with distress oxide inks in the following colors: tattered rose, worn lipstick, tumbled glass and peacock feathers. Next I foiled the Scattered Hearts Background in Aura colored foil using my Glimmer Hot Foil System. I trimmed the panel down using the largest Nestabilities Essentials Rectangle and mounted it to a maroon A2 card base with a full panel of foam adhesive.
Next I worked on diecutting all the pieces to create the adorable car scene. I started by cutting all the Sunday Drive car parts from white & gold foiled papers, and black metallic paper. I assembled the car as much as possible. Then I cut out all the pieces from Sunday Sunset Drive from different colors of cardstock (this is great for using up scraps!). Then I assembled the people and added the rest of the items to the car. I mounted the cute car scene to the front of the card as shown.
I added the scattering of confetti looking pieces coming off the car and trailing behind the left side tire. Then I accented with jewels to finish.
