Fresh Inspiration with Altenew: October 2026 Release Blog Hop + PRIZES

Happy Saturday, crafty friends! I’m happy to be part of the blog hop today for Altenew’s October release, where there are $300 in prizes up for grabs.

I am completely smitten with the three new ink color families Altenew recently added to their collection, and today's card was the perfect excuse to put them to work! Paired with the beautiful new Craft Your Life Project Kit: Expressive Flora from the October release, these soft florals and dreamy color combinations had me reaching for all the pinks, corals, and purples.

The Expressive Flora kit makes it so easy to create layered blooms full of depth and detail, and the fresh new ink shades add even more personality to every petal. Let's take a closer look at today's card and all of those gorgeous colors in action!

Easy Step by Step instructions:

  • Cut & fold (2) A2 white card bases.
  • Ink blend the stencils to 6" x 6" white cardstock in the following colors:

Stencil 1: Parchment Pink, Dove Gray
Stencil 2: Coral Dust
Stencil 3: Rosy Terra, Rosewood
Stencil 4: Rosewood, Snapdragon, Stone Wall
Stencil 5: Snapdragon, Gravel
Stencil 6: Snapdragon, Thistle Floret, Wild Orchid, Iridescent Glitter Relief Paste

  • Set aside to let the iridescent glitter paste dry.
  • Cut light gray cardstock to 4" x 5.25", then emboss with the 3D embossing folder.
  • Diecut the flower petals from white cardstock, and the flower middles from Moonstone glitter cardstock.
  • Ink blend the flower petal layers in Vintage Study & Highland Flora inks.
  • Ink blend the top layer of the flower middles in Snapdragon.
  • Assemble the cards using the Keyhole system.
  • Heat emboss the sentiments in Golden Peach to white cardstock.
  • Diecut with two additional white layers, and one layer of Sparkling Peach glitter cardstock.
  • Stack & glue together, using the glitter layer as a drop shadow.
  • Trim the ink blended background to 4" x 5.25".
  • Mount both background panels to the card fronts with foam tape.
  • Arrange & adhere the diecut flowers to the gray card front as shown.
  • Mount the sentiments to the card fronts with foam tape.
  • Accent with Iridescent Clear sequins to finish.

Easy Step by Step instructions:

  • Cut & fold A2 white card base.
  • Heat emboss the background pattern in Antique Gold to the a Sandy Blush cardstock panel.
  • Trim the panel to 3.75" x 5" to make the design the same left to right.
  • Heat emboss the secondary sentiment to the lower right corner in Pure White.
  • Mount to the card front with foam tape.
  • Diecut the flower pieces from Simply For You & Framed Botanicals in Moonstone glitter & Brushed Gold cardstock.
  • Assemble the flowers and arrange to the card front.
  • Diecut the For You word once from Moonstone Glitter, and twice from white cardstock.
  • Diecut the shadow layer from vellum, then stack & glue together.
  • Mount the sentiment to the front with thin foam strips.
  • Accent with Peony Gold sequins to finish.
