Fresh Inspiration with Altenew: April 2026 Release Blog Hop + PRIZES

Apr 11 2026 | By: Lea Lawson

Happy Saturday, crafty friends! I’m back with another dose of floral magic for Altenew’s April release, and these new goodies are giving me all the whimsical feels. ✨🌸

Today I’m playing with the Sakura Blossoms stamp & stencil set — a big beauty that lets you create three to four cards in one go. I paired it with my Stampwheel 2.0, taking advantage of the removable right side so I could work on a larger panel. A little stack of leftover foam pieces helped lift the surface just right, and it worked like a charm. You can peek at the quick phone photo below for reference!

While I used some of the smaller sentiments from the Sakura Blossoms stamp set on each card, I also brought in the larger scripted sentiments from Creative Labels stamp & die on two of them. I know I say this often, but this set truly is one I reach for again and again. It’s a limited‑stock item, and once it’s gone, it’s gone — so if you love those elegant labels and beautiful scripts, now’s the time to grab it.

I also added the new Arched Door die set to my custom‑sized mini slimline card, and it pairs so perfectly with the cluster of cherry blossoms. This card measures 3.75" x 7" and slips right into an A7 envelope with ease.

FEATURED PRODUCTS - if you love my card & would like to purchase any of the products I've used, I would love for you to shop from my links! I earn a small commission at no cost to you, allowing me to contribute to our finances. I appreciate this gesture more than words can express!

Easy Step by Step instructions:

  • Cut & fold (2) A2 white card bases.
  • Cover one with Aqualicious cardstock, and add a 3.75" strip of aqua glitter cardstock down the middle of the other.
  • Cut & fold (1) 3.75" x 7" white card base. (Custom card size, but still fits in an A7 envelope.)
  • Add a strip of aqua glitter cardstock to the top.
  • Heat emboss the Sakura Blossoms stamp set to an 8.5" x 11" sheet of white cardstock in antique gold using the Stampwheel 2.0.
  • Ink blend the florals using the coordinating layering stencils in the following colors:

Stencil 1: Strawberry
Stencil 2: Dusty Pink
Stencil 3: Blush Rose
Stencil 4: Pink Crystal
Stencil 5: Raspberry Sunset, Sagestone, Rocky Shore
Stencil 6: Olive Grove, Mocha

  • Diecut one section of the image with the largest Nested Arch.
  • Trim the other two panels from the image as shown.
  • Diecut the Arched Door pieces, then assemble.
  • Stamp the secondary sentiment to the bottom of the landscape A2 panel in black.
Heat emboss the sentiment to the custom mini slimline panel in antique gold.
  • Heat emboss the scripted sentiments in Antique gold, then diecut.
  • Heat emboss the final secondary sentiment in pure white to Aqualicous cardstock.
  • Trim the secondary sentiment into a thin strip.
  • Mount each panel to it's corresponding card base with foam tape or liquid glue.
  • Adhere the arched door to the custom mini slimline card.
  • Adhere the sentiments and secondary sentiment to each card front as shown.
  • Accent the floral middles with the smallest Crystal Moonlight sequins.
  • Accent with Shimmering Pool sequins to finish.
