New Roads & New Kits: My First Hero Studio Blog Hop + GIVEAWAY!

Jul 1, 2025 | By: Lea Lawson

Share

I’m so excited to be jumping in for the very first time with the Hero Studio monthly kits from Hero Arts—and July’s lineup is a creative treat! Between the Card Kit of the Month, Die Set of the Month, and Layering Stencils of the Month, I had such a blast playing with color, texture, and a big dose of retro charm. Each card brought something a little different to the table, and I love how they all came together with that signature Hero Arts style.

Curious how the Hero Studio kits work each month? Here's a quick rundown:

  • If you're already subscribed, you've got until the 3rd of the month to make any changes to your kit selections—after that, you'll be charged and locked in for the month.
  • New to the kits (or just want to add another to your lineup)? You can subscribe from the 1st through the 27th, or until the kits sell out—whichever comes first!
  • And if you’re someone who wants all the things, the Whole Studio subscription includes every monthly kit at 40% off, plus a little freebie as a treat.

It’s an easy, flexible system—and such a fun way to keep fresh creativity arriving at your door. 🚗💌

Even better? This post is part of a blog hop, which means there is a prize up for grabs and loads of inspiration waiting around every corner. So grab a comfy seat and let’s dive into the July kits—I can't wait to show you what I made!

Want to watch all five of my cards come to life? Check out today's video! If you enjoyed this little creative road trip with me, I’d love for you to subscribe to my channel and tap the notification bell so you don’t miss any crafty detours ahead. Thanks so much for stopping by—it means the world!

Card Kit of the Month card set

These three cards had me cruising right into crafty joy! I used the Hero Studio Card Kit of the Month to whip up this little trio of retro road trip vibes—complete with scenic skies, winding highways, and the ultimate encouragement to keep going (with a little flair, of course). I couldn’t resist those vintage details and uplifting sentiments—because sometimes the best creative detours happen when you let your imagination steer.

Card size: A2 - 4.25" x 5.5" (inches)

Here are simple instructions on how to create today's cards:

  • Cut & fold A2 card bases.
  • Stamp (3) panels with the On the Road HeroScape, two in the sunset colors and one in the daytime colors.
  • Add a light ombre gradient to the bottom of one of the sunset panels, then trim the bottom from the other.
  • Adhere the stamped panels to each card front as shown, popped with foam adhesive.
  • Diecut all the pieces for the daytime card from the Let's Go die set.
  • Assemble the scene as shown, then adhere to the daytime card front.
  • Heat emboss the full moon & sentiments for each card, then diecut.
  • Adhere to each card front with thin foam strips.
  • Accent with Aura AB self-adhesive gems to finish.

Whether you're road-tripping across the country or just down the street to your craft desk, this kit is such a fun way to bring the journey to life. With a few simple layers and a little creative play, you can turn cardstock into postcards from the heart. I loved creating this trio and hope it inspires your next stop on the crafting map!

Die and Layering Stencil Kits of the Month cards

These two cards were such a blast to make—like a creative road trip with all the best pit stops! I played with the Hero Studio Die of the Month and Layering Stencils of the Month, and they’re serving up serious retro vibes. Between the cassette tape (hello, mixtape nostalgia!) and the colorful stenciled pep talk, I felt like I was crafting straight from the passenger seat of our ‘80s Ford Tempo Stationwagon....lol! These designs pack a punch of positivity and a little wink of whimsy—and honestly, I’d make them all over again just for the fun of it.

Card size: A2 - 4.25" x 5.5" (inches)

Here are simple instructions on how to create today's cards:

  • Cut & fold A2 card bases.
  • Cut (2) A2 panels from white cardstock.
  • Trim thin strips from colored cardstock, and adhere to one panel.
  • Round the upper right and lower left corner of that panel, then mount to the card front.
  • Round just the upper right corner of the card base.
  • Diecut the pieces from the Mix Tape die set, then assemble.
  • Adhere to the card front as shown with foam adhesive.
  • Ink blend the Just Keep Going stencils to the other panel ink pink, orange and aqua.
  • Adhere clear packaging around the panel to make an edge to edge shaker window, fill with glitter then seal.
  • Mount to the card base with foam adhesive to finish.

I loved the playful energy in these two projects—between the pop of those layered stencils and that sweet little die-cut tape, it was like crafting straight from a road trip playlist. If you’re in the mood for a dose of color and a smile you can send in an envelope, these kits definitely hit the mark. Can’t wait to see where next month’s detour leads!
