Spotlight on Papertrey Ink: April 2026 Release

April Release Live: All About Dad + Dad word die

There is so much Father's Day goodness in the April release at Papertrey Ink, and I leaned into a modern design with a beachy retro color palette for my first live featuring this release! I also shared an easy hack for creating the stripes on the dad word die.

Easy Step by Step instructions:

  • Cut & fold white A2 card base, then cover with Enchanted Evenings cardstock.
  • Diecut the largest Top Notch die from white cardstock, then trim in half.
  • Ink blend one half with Hawaiian Shores ink, and the other with Orange Zest.
  • Adhere inverted towards each other to the card front.
  • Heat emboss the large sentiment in gold to white cardstock, then diecut.
  • Mount to the card front with foam tape.
  • Trim 1/4" strips from cardstock in the following colors: Ehchanted Evening, Spring Rain, Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist, Orange Zest & Summer Sunrise.
  • Adhere them to a block of white printer paper.
  • Diecut with the solid Dad word die, then diecut additional layers from white & ivory glitter cardstock.
  • Stack the layers together slightly off-center as shown.
  • Adhere over top of the heat embossed word "dad".
  • Accent with a Aura AB jewels to finish.

April Release Live: Birch Grove Stencils + All About Dad shaker card

For my second live featuring the April release at Papertrey Ink, I created this sweet shaker card with the new Birch Grove stencils. So often we put father's day cards into a box of bold, masculine colors and briefcases...but I'm a firm believer that they can be soft and nature inspired too!🌿

Easy Step by Step instructions:

  • Cut & fold white A2 card base.
  • Ink blend Birch Grove stencils to white cardstock in the following colors:

Stencil 1: Aqua Mist
Stencil 2: Fine Linen
Stencil 3: Dark Chocolate
Stencil 4: Simply Chartreuse

  • Mount to the card front with foam adhesive.
  • Diecut the Exodus 14 label die from avcetate and ivory glitter cardstock, then diecut the ivory glitter middle with an oval die that fits best.
  • Heat emboss the sentiment to the acetate layer in white embossing powder.
  • Adhere the acetate and glitter frame together to make the shaker window.
  • Add a glitter and sequin mix to the middle of the card, then mount the shaker window over top with foam tape.
  • Accent the coordinating sequins to finish.

April Release Live: Peaceful Meadow Sympathy card

For my third live featuring the April release at Papertrey Ink, I created this serene sympathy card featuring the Peaceful Meadow stamp & die set, along with a secondary sentiment from This is Big Sentiments: Strength stamp set, and the Brushstrokes stencils in the background.

We had a fun discussion about adding shimmer to sympathy cards, and all agreed that subtle shimmer was totally okay. I lightly added stickles to the pink and purple stamping, and I love how it turned out!

Easy Step by Step instructions:

  • Cut & fold white A2 card base, then cover with Lavender Moon cardstock.
  • Diecut the Tree and Grassy dies from white cardstock.
  • Stamp layer the tree trunk in Honey Nut and the Leaves in a gradient from Sweet Blush to Pale Peony.
  • Stamp layer the grass in Spring Moss and the blooms in Lavender Moon.
  • Stamp the birds in Spring Rain ink, then diecut.
  • Heat emboss the main sentiment in gold to white cardstock.
  • Diecut with two additional white layers, and one additional ivory glitter layer.
  • Stack & glue together, using the ivory glitter layer as a shadow.
  • Ink blend an A2 white cardstock panel with the Brushstrokes stencils in Sweet Blush, Lavender Moon, Spring Rain and Spring Moss.
  • Stamp the secondary sentiment to the bottom of the the panel in black ink.
  • Trim panel slightly smaller, then mount to the card front with foam tape.
  • Mount to the card front with foam tape.
  • Adhere the stamped tree and grass elements to the front as shown.
  • Mount the sentiment to the upper right corner with thin foam tape.
  • Accent with matching pearls to finish.
