Inside Ichabod’s Study: Halloween Cards with Hero Arts August Studio
Wednesday, August 27, 2025 | By: Lea Lawson
Halloween crafting is officially underway in my studio, and I couldn’t resist channeling a little Hocus Pocus magic for this month’s Hero Studio, Ichabod’s Study. With its vintage charm and spooky elegance, this set instantly reminded me of spellbooks, flickering candles, and the whimsical mischief of the Sanderson sisters. I had so much fun creating this collection of cards—each one a playful nod to the season of spooks, spells, and pumpkin everything!
Curious how the Hero Studio kits work each month? Here's a quick rundown:
- If you're already subscribed, you've got until the 3rd of the month to make any changes to your kit selections—after that, you'll be charged and locked in for the month.
- New to the kits (or just want to add another to your lineup)? You can subscribe from the 1st through the 27th, or until the kits sell out—whichever comes first!
- And if you’re someone who wants all the things, the Whole Studio subscription includes every monthly kit at 40% off, plus a little freebie as a treat.
It’s an easy, flexible system—and such a fun way to keep fresh creativity arriving at your door. 🚗💌
Card Kit of the Month card set
While the vintage illustrations of Abraham and Katrina in this month’s Card Kit weren’t quite my style, the charming pumpkins and that adorable bat totally stole my heart! I leaned into the seasonal vibes with a pastel twist, and the coordinating sentiments in the stamp set are just chef’s kiss for Halloween crafting—playful, versatile, and perfectly spooky. These cards came together with so much joy, and I love how they celebrate the fun side of fall!
If you’re curious about the kit, it’s a great value—just $60 to subscribe, with over $120 worth of creative goodies inside. It’s packed with inspiration and perfect for getting a head start on your Halloween makes!
P.S. The second card features the Stencil Studio of the Month, but the design could easily be adapted with other background techniques or patterned papers if that stencil isn’t in your stash.

Die and Layering Stencil Kits of the Month cards
These Halloween cards came together with the Hero Arts Die Studio & Stencil Studio of the Month, and the mix of elements is just so charming. The dies include sweet seasonal icons that layer beautifully into the coordinating frames—perfect for building little scenes or adding a playful focal point. And while the stencils pair beautifully with the Halloween theme, their patterns are versatile enough to stretch well beyond October. Think backgrounds for fall florals, birthday cards, or even winter sparkle!
I loved playing with color and texture to give each card its own personality. Whether you lean whimsical or classic spooky, these kits offer so many creative possibilities—and the frames and stencils are sure to be staples in your stash long after the candy’s gone.

Before I wrap up this spooky little showcase, did you happen to notice the common thread across all four cards? That gorgeous Victorian Frame die from the August Card Kit made an appearance in every single one—and I’m not even sorry about it! It’s easily my favorite product from the entire August Studio release. The shape is timeless, the details are just ornate enough, and it works beautifully across styles and seasons. I already know it’s going to be one of those dies I reach for again and again.
