Good Fortune Horse inspiration with Spellbinders
Friday, December 12, 2025 | By: Lea Lawson
Let’s ring in the Lunar New Year with bold color and spirited design. This card features the new Good Fortune Horse stamp & die set from Spellbinders, brought to life with traditional red and gold—colors that symbolize luck, joy, and prosperity in Chinese culture.
After receiving this set, I realized I didn’t know much about the Lunar New Year. So I did a little research, and I loved learning about the traditions and symbolism behind it!
And here’s a fun fact I discovered: 2026 will be the Year of the Fire Horse, a rare zodiac cycle that only comes around once every 60 years. The Horse represents energy, strength, and forward momentum, while the Fire element adds extra passion and spark—making it the perfect symbol for charging into new adventures. I think I'm going to make that the theme of my upcoming year!
Whether you’re celebrating the season or simply sharing good vibes, this card is a joyful way to embrace the spirit of renewal and gallop into the year ahead with confidence.

For this second card featuring the Good Fortune Horse stamp & die set from Spellbinders, I took a whimsical turn and created a birthday card inspired by all things Lisa Frank and My Little Pony! With the help of the Star Stream stencil & die and the Star Struck die from The Greetery, I built a dreamy, swirling sky full of sparkle and color...perfect for a unicorn to gallop through!
The unicorn horn? It’s actually a carrot nose from a snowman die. 😂 Sometimes the best ideas come from unexpected places!
I love finding fun ways to combine products from different companies - it’s such a joyful way to stretch your stash and bring your creative vision to life. Whether it’s a bold background or a quirky detail, the possibilities are endless when you mix and match with intention and a little imagination.
