Fresh Inspiration with Altenew: November 2026 Release Blog Hop + PRIZES

Happy Saturday, crafty friends! I’m happy to be part of the blog hop today for Altenew’s November release, where there are $300 in prizes up for grabs.

Sometimes a stamp & die set has other plans! While the Mini Delight: Wings of Comfort set was designed with sympathy cards in mind, I couldn't stop hearing "two turtle doves" when I saw these charming birds. The foliage looked like frosty evergreen branches, so I skipped the florals and dressed the scene for the holidays with sparkling berries from the Festive Greenery Die Set. Finished with a golden sentiment from the Holiday Essentials Die Set, this card feels like a little Christmas carol brought to life!

Easy Step by Step instructions:

  • Cut & fold A2 white card base, then cover with Crimson cardstock.
  • Stamp the evergreen boughs to a white cardstock panel in Coastal Haze & Misty Harbor Ink.
  • Diecut the sentiment one from Brushed Gold and twice from white cardstock.
  • Diecut the shadow layer from vellum, then stack & glue together.
  • Mount the the card front with foam adhesive strips.
  • Diecut the dove pieces from black, Pink Sand & white cardstock.
  • Ink blend the Pink Sand pieces with Shattered Shell ink.
  • Ink blend the wings with Silver Lining & Celestial Mist ink, then paint with Iridescent ink spray.
  • Once dry, assemble the doves using the keyhole system.
  • Diecut the berries from Red Spinel & Garnet glitter cardstocks from the Brilliant Red collection.
  • Mount the berries to the card front with foam adhesive dots.
  • Adhere the doves as shown with ClearFix glue.
  • Dab Iridscent Glitter Relief Paste to the evergreen boughts with a Q-tip, then sprinkle additional glitter mix to the top.
  • Accent with Iridescent Clear sequins to finish.

Easy Step by Step instructions:

  • Cut & fold white card base.
  • Ink blend the stencils to 6" x 7" white cardstock in the following colors:

Stencil 1: Parchment Pink
Stencil 2: Coral Dust, Pale Mauve
Stencil 3: Rosy Terra, Amethyst
Flip stencil 3 180 degrees: Rosewood, Grape Agate
Stencil 4: Pool
Stencil 5: Mystic Lake, Rosy Terra
Stencil 6: Teal Tempest, Rosewood, Plum

  • Diecut stenciled image with the coordinating die.
  • Stamp the sentiment in black ink to white cardstock.
  • Diecut with two extra layers, then stack & glue together.
  • Emboss 4" x 5.25" Chiffon cardstock with the Heirloom Filligree - Oval 3D embossing folder.
  • Mount to the card base with instant dimension foam tape.
  • Trim the floral image as shown, then adhere to the card front.
  • Glue the sentiment to the upper left corner with liquid glue.
  • Accent with Iridescent Clear sequins to finish.
