There are two really amazing stamp sets being revealed today, but I only had time to create with one of them, and I chose Yetitide Greetings. I WILL be using the Nutcracker themed set in the VERY near future, so be sure to check back soon, or keep an eye out on Instagram! I decided to create a fun little scene with the skiing & snowboarding Yetis. WAAAYYY back in the day, I loved to ski. And I remember getting so mad at snowboarders for the edge that they make in the snow. I had a BIG garage sale on the slopes one day because of an you know what that is? It's where you eat it so hard that you lose all your gear as you tumble down the mountain. Typically skiers will bring you your items as they come down from above! I'm pretty sure I spent the rest of the day by the fire in the lodge... Anyways, I've decided that these Yetis must have some solidarity, so that's what's going on here. :)

To start I created a galaxy background with Pinkfresh Studio liquid watercolor in licorice, aquamarine & bubblegum. I typically make multiple galaxy backgrounds at one time when I am creating them. This way I can grab one when needed, and not have to wait for any dry time, etc. I do have a YouTube video where I share how I make my galaxy backgrounds, and you can view that HERE. It's actually about time to have a galaxy making session, as I only have one left. Maybe I will get to that this weekend!

Once the panel dried, I spritzed it down with shimmer spray and let it dry again. Finally, I splattered it with titanium white acrylic paint and let it dry one final time.

Next I stamped the Yetis and trees in onyx black Versafine ink to 130 LB cougar white cardstock. Then I colored them all in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I used the following colors:

Yeti fur: Gray, Light Gray, Pale Gray
Yeti face: Medium Beige, Light Beige, Blender
Yeti Cheeks/hearts: Sugared Almond Pink, Pale Pink
Skis: Mid Brown, Dark Oatmeal, Ochre
Snowboard: Gray, Light Gray, Pale Gray
Trees: Light Green, Pale Green, Green Shadow

I let the marker set for a bit, then cut each image out with their coordinating diecut. Then I splattered just the trees with some titanium white acrylic paint to make them look a little more snowy. Just a quick shopping note - I have linked all the colors below to Simon Says Stamp & Ellen Hutson. I have the 90 set of Zig markers, which is the full set. I got mine on Amazon, as both SSS & Ellen Hutson don't carry the full set.

Finally, I diecut the mountain slopes from glitter white paper. I used some dies from a company other than Winnie & Walter, so I don't feel comfortable mentioning them in this post. You can use any type of scene building dies you might have to create them, or they are also fairly easy to cut freehand in a pinch!

At this point, it was time to start building my scene! I created an A2 card base from 130 LB cougar white cardstock, then mounted the galaxy background to it with foam adhesive. Next I adhered the mountain slopes to the front, using permanent tape adhesive at the bottoms, and foam tape at the top. I stamped & heat embossed the sentiment in Gilded embossing powder to a strip of white cardstock, then adhered it with permanent tape adhesive to the bottom of the top mountain layer. Then I tucked the trees in behind each mountain layer as shown, and adhered the Yetis making their way down each mountain. And finally, no card is complete without my signature jewels tucked here & there. The textured gems are some older ones from Prima Marketing, and I don't think you can get them any longer. They can easily be changed out with any round accent you might have on hand, or just leave them off if jewels aren't your thing.

That is all I have for you today, my friends! Before you move along with your day, I wanted to invite you to follow me on social media. I hang out on Instagram a lot, and share my work in progress in my stories...along with REALLY cute photos of my dogs! :) And of course, I would love for you to subscribe to my YouTube Channel. My channel has been pretty quiet recently - I am right in the middle of reorganizing my entire craft it is a bit disjointed. I have given myself a deadline of the end of December to get it completely finished, with my new studio area ready for video creation!! So, there will be a TON more videos in 2019. So thank you for bearing with me until then!

I hope that you have a wonderful rest of your Friday, and happy shopping tonight!
