I will be honest with you - I don't often use colors this primary. And I don't often do cards that are more masculine in general - but I have to confess something. I learned how to drive stick shift on my dad's baja bug in the mountains of Arizona, and I have always had a special place for all the stamps & dies that have come out with a bug toting a Christmas tree...but I have NEVER purchased any for some reason. So...this is my first stamp set with this image, and I KNEW it was the image I would focus on first from the set! I just love it! I also purchased this plaid paper last year from the Mad 4 Plaid Christmas collection by Paper Photo Play...and never used them. It's a! I thought that dark plaid was a perfect background for this card, and helped keep it in the masculine theme!

To start, I stamped the bug in onyx black Versafine to 130 lb. white cardstock, and colored in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I used the following colors:

Car Body: Geranium Red, Red, Gray, Light Gray
Car Lights: Bright Yellow, Yellow
Car Window: Light Blue, Haze Blue, Blender
Tree: Light Green, Pale Green, Mid Brown, Dark Oatmeal
Presents: Geranium Red, Red, Light Green, Pale Green
Background: Deep Blue, Blue, Light Gray

I let the markers set a bit, then added some highlights with a Uniball Signo white gel pen. Finally, I cut out the image with it's coordinating die. Just a quick shopping note - I have linked all the colors below. I have the 90 set of Zig markers, which is the full set. I got mine on Amazon, as both SSS & Ellen Hutson don't carry the full set.

Next I cut out the plaid panel & 130 lb. white cardstock panel using the new Essentials: Tilda Cutaways. I love the pinked edging on the decorative feels perfectly festive! Then I stamped the sentiment to the bottom of the white cardstock panel in onyx black Versafine, and popped the colored bug image above it with foam tape. Then I used Zig markers again to watercolor the background around the popped up stamped image, and set it aside to dry.

Next I splattered white paint to the front of both the plaid & stamped panel. Once dry, I added full sheets of foam adhesive to the back of each one. Then I tied a gingham check bow around the plaid panel, then adhered it to the front of an A2 white card base. Next I adhered the stamped panel to the top of that. And finally, I accented with my signature jewels here & there. Even though this card is more masculine feeling, it wouldn't be complete without some added bling. Just consider them snowflakes. :)

Lastly - I added some shimmer to the window & lights with my Tonic Aqua Shimmer pen. In reality, this would be a nightmare while driving. Lol! But considering this is just on a card...I liked the little bit of extra that the shimmer added to the card front.
That is all I have for you today, my friends! Before you move along with your day, I wanted to invite you to follow me on social media.
