We Need 2 Talk

Happy Tuesday, blog friends!  How are you doing so far this week?  We've had a good couple of days!  On Sunday we smoked a turkey, and had our neighbors over for dinner & drinks.  Once it got dark out we lit a fire in their little fire pit & had smores...it was fun!  Yesterday we went for a run, and then had some other friends from church over for burgers.  Lots of yummy cooking over the weekend on the Traeger...best purchase EVER.  At least recently.  Lol!

Today I have a a sassy & fun set of cards using both The Story I Heard Kit & Add-on from Scraptastic Kit Club this month. These kits made me think of gossiping with my girlfriends (not mean gossiping...just the fun banter that only women understand) and just being silly together.  I've moved away from all of my best girlfriends, and these cards make me miss them so much!!  I am so looking forward to our visit home this summer when we can stay up late & chat to our hearts content!!

These cards were inspired by those moments when you just HAVE to talk to one of your girlfriend's about something that seems pretty major (if only for a moment) or during those times when you are bummed out & just need someone to validate you.  Check them out!
One of the things I love most about working with kits is having a true focus on certain products.  I love to take everything out of its packaging, and lay it out so it is easy to grab from.  And that is how both of these cards came together.  After cutting & planning out the paper blocks...I did what I call "grab & go".  Don't think to hard about it....grab for items and start placing them here & there around your card.  You will put things back that don't work out and move things around a bit...but in the end you have a really fun card that is full of things you might not have thought to put on it at first glance!!

I also was inspired by these challenges:
-Viva la Verve May 2014 - week 3 & week 4 sketches
-The Pink Elephant #252 - anything goes

That is everything I have to share with you today!!  I hope that you have an awesome Tuesday!

Until later,

How Wonderful Life is....

Happy Saturday, blog friends!!  How is your weekend going so far?  Mine is good...pretty quiet.  So- Josh and I have started running (well, I've gone once) because we want to do a 5K at the end of June.  I am NOT a runner.  In any way, shape or form...and I highly doubt I am going to become a "runner".  You know - the ones who will run in negative weather with snow everywhere and icicles hanging off their nose because they NEED to run.  Never going to happen.  But it is something that Josh and I can do together, and it is a workout that I can add into my weekly routine.  I LOVE doing Oula, don't get me wrong...but I also need something that gets me out of the house sometimes too.  So, running is the perfect thing to add in!!  Wish me luck!

I had the chance to create a card today!!  While I have some projects in the works using the two brand new Glitz Design collections....the 77 collection was just calling my name today.  I layered & stamped & embossed to my hearts content...and this is what I came up with!
I love the colors in this collection...it mirrors a lot of the colors I have in my house!  {I think that is why I am so drawn to it!}  The feather stamps from the Finnley collection matched perfectly!!  I stamped them on vellum with embossing ink, then covered one in a regular gold embossing powder and the other in a glittery gold embossing powder.  I love how it gave them a transparent look underneath the beautifully embossed gold.  Plus- I love the regular gold & glittery gold mixed together.  How about you?

I also created this card using these challenges:
-My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch #177
-CASE Study #192
-A Blog Named Hero #44 - embossing

I hope that you have a lovely rest of your Saturday...we are going to watch the latest episode of The Americans (I think it might be the season finale) and then we are going to go for a run!

Until later,

Dream ♥♥♥

Happy Wednesday, blog friends!! How has your week been so far?  Pretty good here...nothing too exciting going on right now.  Just kind-of daily life...you know, the usual.  :)

I'm on the My Mind's Eye blog today with some cards using the brand new Market Street "Ashbury Heights" product.  I *might* have squeeled & gasped when I opened my box of new goodies the other day.  But seriously...who can help it when new My Mind's Eye arrives on your doorstep?!  I love the dreamy & whimsical nature of the colors & fonts used in Ashbury Hill, so I focused on the word "dream" and created two sweet love cards.  They are full of pink & different shades of green & gold...and I just love them!

I used two of the Viva la Verve May sketches (week 1 and week 2) and the inspiration photo for Runway Inspired #60.  I was drawn to the pink in her skirt, the mint on the floor & the gold on her sweater (it's more goldenrod on the photo - I chose to use metallic gold instead)....plus I was just inspired by the whimsical nature of the outfit as well!  Here is what I created!
Supplies:Market Street - Ashbury Heights: shimmer paper, dotted paper, 6x6 paper pad, chipboard elements, chipboard buttons, decorative brads, mixed bag diecuts, enamel dots, 3x4 cards;Necessities - Metallic: decorative tape; Now and Then - Mildred: alpha/word stickers.

For both cards I layered papers & journal cards together, and used stitching & foam adhesive to give the cards more dimension. I also slanted the sentiments on both of them to give it that eclectic, "thrown together" handmade feel...even though I very strategically placed every item. Lol!

For the first card I cut the card base from the "Ashbury Heights" shimmer paper. After cutting a block of polka dot paper & a scalloped border strip, I layered them together, then accented with a glittered paper strip & tied twine around the bottom. I layered this entire block to the top of the card with a doily diecut, popping the paper block with foam adhesive. I tucked a tab under the left side of it, then accented with twine threaded chipboard buttons. I added a little sentiment strip & brad to the bottom of the journal card, then accented the card with enamel dots.

For the second card I started with a blush cardstock base.  I layered a vellum & aqua paper block together, then adhered the "Dream" journal card to the top with washi tape strips.  After adding some zig-zag stitching to the front, I adhered it to the card base.  I added the chipboard embellishments to the front, then finished the sentiment with tiny alpha stickers.  I finished it off my accenting it with enamel dots!

These new collections have ignited my crafty mojo A LOT, so I would highly suggest you add some of the Market Street goodies to your stash.  They have literally filled me with inspiration!  Thanks for checking out my cards, and I hope that you have a wonderful rest of your day!

Until later,

Digi Love

Happy Monday, blog friends!  How was your weekend?  Ours was full, but really fun.  We had an amazing baby back rib dinner with our real estate agent & her husband on Friday night.  On Saturday we did some landscaping to our front yard, then had dinner with our neighbors, Mitch & Sammi.  On Sunday we had church, did some shopping and went to to the new Godzilla movie with Mitch & Sammi.  The movie theater closest to us just got new luxury seating in their UltraScreen theaters, and I may never be able to go to a movie again without a reclining leather loveseat to sit in.  Lol!

Today I have a lot of digital layouts I want to share with you.  I haven't been good about posting them to my blog, and rather than create lots of different posts...I'm just going to share them all on this one.  And THEN be good about sharing them in a timely manner.  Lol!  :)

This first one uses Glitz Design's "All Dolled Up" collection, which just released digitally this past Friday.  We are giving away one complete collection on THIS BLOG POST.  Click on the link & leave a comment for your chance to win...winners will be posted at the end of the month.
This is me & my best friend, Meagan on New Year’s Eve in 2012!  When we lived in Montana, we started having parties at our house where we would get all dressed up, eat appetizers & drink sugary sparkly cocktails and ring in the New Year safely.  The All Dolled Up collection was perfect for the theme of the photo!!

My next layouts will all feature product from Deena Rutter.  This first layout uses the newly released Layered Layouts and this month's Every Little Bit kits.  Check it out!
These are some snapshots from my mom's birthday dinner & celebration last year!  It makes me a little sad that we just can't pack up & head over for a day when we have birthdays & small celebrations...but I do treasure the fact that we got to do that for so long.  And I love that photo of me, my mom & my little brother.

This next layout also uses some of the brand new layout templates, and the Roots & Wings collection released last month!  The watercolor brushes & gold mists were from some free kits I've procured this year....I'm sorry but I don't have links for them.
This is a cute snapshot of Josh & I at a charity event that our real estate agent invited us to called "Claws for a Cause".  It benefited a charity that does work on the homes of veterans that they would otherwise not be able to afford.  While most ate lobster tails, I opted for chicken as I am not a seafood fan.  We had a couple drinks, did fake horse racing & kind-of dressed up.  The theme was supposed to be "tropical", so Josh wore his linen shirt, and I put a flower in my hair.  Lol- that's all we got for tropical, because I wasn't busting out a bikini during March in Fargo.

This layout uses the Every Little Bit kits from April, and the template challenge from Pixel's & Co. in April.
Our church wanted to bless members on Easter Sunday with a couple of family snapshots, and they asked me to be one of the photographers.  I got a great brick wall with spring painted chairs as my backdrop, and LOVED it.  I threw my camera on its tripod before heading out that day and took a couple cute photos of Josh & me as well!!  I love how this one turned out!

This next layout uses the Every Little Bit kits from March!  So many FUN elements in these kits...some of my faves!!
I loved going through these older photos from 2012!!  I still had SUPER curly hair, Grant & Meagan weren't married yet, and moving to Fargo wasn't even a thought on our radar.  We had a great time on St. Patrick's Day eating corned beef & cabbage, rainbow cupcakes & adding green dye to our drinks!!

This layout features some older Deena Rutter product that was featured in April.  I also used a freebie template from Pixels and Company!
These are snapshots from my birthday dinner with my parents, brother & grandma last year at Lydia's in Butte.  We also went up to The Acoma for lemondrop martinis.  Like I said before...I really do miss getting to see my family more often, but moving is a part of life.

And we have made it to my final layout....how are you doing so far?  Lol!  Deena does a feature on her blog called The Wednesday Variety, where some past kits are used digitally, hybrid & for Project Life.  I did the feature digitally in March:
This is one of my favorite photos of us from our trip to Texas last year.  We took a couple days & went to Galveston, and made sure we took some beautiful photos on the beach.  I love the boardwalk in the background....it was perfect for this product!

You've made it to the end!!!  If you were able to stick with me this far....I appreciate it so much!!  And I really hope you enjoyed my digital layouts...I'm happy with what I've been learning & how I've been doing so far.  Thanks so much for checking out my post today!!

Until later,
