WPlus9 April Release Day 2: "A Special Lady"

Happy Tuesday, my friends!!  Welcome to day 2 of the WPlus9 April release, and today we are showing off "A Special Lady" again.  Yesterday I gave you some details of the stamp set, and today I want to let you in on how you could possibly win this set!!  All you have to do is go to the WPlus9 Design Blog, and check out the posts from today and yesterday.  Check out Dawn's fabulous samples, follow the comment instructions, and you give yourself two chances to win (as long as you comment on both posts.)  This stamp set is a must have, so any chance to win it is awesome!!

Yesterday I showcased the tulip in its simplest form by just stamping it in white to vellum.  Today I still stamped my image and sentiment to vellum, but I also did a very small amount of coloring (with a colored pencil...pretty much the only way I ever color anything that is stamped) and then paper pieced the flowers.  The WPlus9 blog also offers a fun color challenge every month, and I wasn't an active member of the design team yet when this month's challenge came about.  So, I thought it would be fun to participate in Color Cue #13 (light green, yellow, gray, white) for my card today!!  I also doubled up my WPlus9 post today with my card for CPS Sketch #211, hoping that this new fabulous stamp set would get some more exposure!! Check it out!
"For a Special Grandmother" supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill Basics (yellow) & Papertrey Ink (white)
Paper: Cosmo Cricket (UPcycle: Relove) & Sassafras (Sunshine Lollipop: Buttercream Bliss)
Vellum: The Paper Company
Stamps: WPlus9 (A Special Lady set)
Ink: Tsukineko (Versafine: onyx black)
Twine: Darice Inc.
Button: Doodlebug Designs
Jewels: International Greetings USA
Glitter: DecoArt
Colored Pencil: Heidi Swapp

Instructions:  Fold yellow cardstock in half to make card base.  Cut gray paper slightly smaller, and adhere to the front.  Stamp the flowers and part of the sentiment to a vellum square.  Stamp the flowers again to yellow dotted paper, cut out, and cover with glitter.  Color the stems and leaves in with a green colored pencil once dry enough.  Adhere the vellum block to a white cardstock block, then zig-zag stitch along the edges.  Adhere the entire block to the card front, then adhere the glittered flowers over top of flowers stamped to vellum.  Stamp the rest of the sentiment directly below the first part, and accent with jewels.  Thread a button with twine, tie a bow, and then adhere to the bottom of the flowers to finish.

**TIP ALERT**: Can I give you a little tip that I learned while creating this card?  I used Versafine ink when stamping on the vellum, and while it will dry at some point...it takes some time.  I didn't have time to wait, so I just went along my way, trying to be as careful as possible.  Well, sure enough...I smudged it.  I was about ready to start over again, but thought I would see if my pencil eraser would work to fix it.  And much to my surprise...it fixed it perfectly!!  And no redo necessary....I was SO excited to find this out!!  Just thought I would share, in case you ever run into this issue as well!

I hope you have liked my first couple of projects as a WPlus9 design team member!  Please be sure to check out what the other design team members have come up with as well!
