Skipping Stones Design Sketch 48

October 26, 2010

Happy Tuesday, friends!!  Today I have my SSDS48 card to share with you, and a giveaway!!  I have had a lot of fun guest designing for Skipping Stones Design the past couple of months!  Today I am featuring the Grunge set again...and I just LOVE the woodgrain stamp!  That is what I featured on my card today:
"Thank You" supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill Basics
Paper: Hambly Screen Prints
Stamps: Skipping Stones Design (Grunge set)
Ink: Clearsnap (Pigment: chestnut)
Embossing Powder: Stampendous (clear)
Ribbon: Renaissance by Design
Jewels: Doodlebug Designs
Corner Rounder: EK Success
Diecut Machine: Cricut Expression by Provo Craft
Diecut Cartridge: Storybook by Provo Craft

Instructions:  Fold aqua cardstock in half to make cardbase.  Round the corners of a kraft cardstock block, and stamp a woodgrain background to the center of it.  Cover the woodgrain stamping in clear embossing powder, and set with a heat gun.  Cut the label and its layers at 2" using a Cricut Expression & Storybook cartridge.  Layer together, punch a hole in the top, and tie ribbon through it.  Adhere the entire sentiment label to the front of the card, and top with a bow.  Accent below the woodgrain stamping with three jewels.

Be sure to check out what all the other ladies on the SSD design team, and guest designers have created with the sketch too!

All you have to do is leave me a comment about my card, and which of the backgrounds in the stamp set are your fave!!  Can't wait to read your comments! ♥♥♥

Until later,

  1. absolutely always rock the colors! Thanks for joining SSD this month as a Guest DT...your work is fantabulous!

  2. great card- your work is so inspiring! My favorite stamp of the set is that wavy one right under the happy birthday- and the woodgrain is a close second.

  3. This is really fantastic! I love it!

  4. Awesome card with awesome colors, and I love the addition of the bling! I really love the grunge stamps too, I think my favorite is that last image (looks like metal).

  5. Lea, this card is so cute! The colors and the wood grain remind me of a slight western it!

  6. I love how girly and pretty you made the grunge stamps! I think the scallopy one is my favorite in the set.

  7. Beautiful card, Lea! I'm a huge fan of the red and turquoise color combination! The ribbon is perfect for this card. I like the woodgrain background stamp because I've seen (from your handiwork) all the fabulous things that can be created with it! ♥♥ Kay

  8. What a beautiful card! Have to have bling! I like the metal plate background stamp, it would be great for masculine cards.

  9. I love your card! Did you use a frame to stamp the wood print? Or how did you get the edges so perfect? That's probably my favorite stamp of the bunch too!

  10. Love the unusual color combination of your card and LOVE LOVE LOVE that set! I really like the diamond back flashing background. I have two boys plus I think my husband still acts like one sometimes so this would be a PERFECT set!

  11. Love the colors that you use!! This is fantastic!!!

  12. great card! love the wood grain but my fav has to be the scallops!

  13. Hi Lea - I love the colour combo in this card - so bright and cheerful. They balance so well with the more sober woodgrain pattern (my favourite!) Thanks for your hard work and inspiration.

  14. Awesome card Lea! I love the offset scallops in that set! So fun!

  15. Beautiful card I love the colors you have used. I think I like the stamp at the bottom. It looks like my husbands tool box. I think it would work well on cards for men.

  16. Your card is gorgeous! Love the colors you used and the different patterns as well!

The background that I like the best is the scalloped one I think! It is so fun!

  17. I love the tyre background stamp - as an ex-biker (many moons ago), it brings up so many wonderful hilarious memories !!!

Comments warm my heart. Thank you! ♥
